June Ann Abreu Silva
Born August 25th 1951 - Passed April 24th 2017 at 65 years old.
Survived by her husband George Silva, Son Josh, Twin Daughters Jodi and Jenna, and dogs Bella & Roxie. In 1951, Anthony Abreu and his wife Betty gave birth to June Ann Abreu in Oakland, CA. June was a beautiful soul who grew up in San Leandro, with adopted siblings John Abreu & Joni Abreu and graduated from San Leandro High School in 1970. She met her future husband George Silva at Pring's in San Leandro and they were married July 14th 1973. After High School, June was a preschool teacher at Horizon Preschool in Oakland, and later managed the Nursery Dept at Orchard Supply in San Lorenzo for 18 years. Married for 7 years at the time, June gave birth to her son Josh in 1980, and not one, but 2 girls, twins, Jodi and Jenna in 1984. She was a rock to her family and the primary caretaker to her husband, helping him survive 2 kidney transplants. The 1st transplant for George happened July 14th, their Wedding anniversary & 2nd transplant on Aug 25th, June's Birthday. One could say the timing was impeccable. June was a selfless woman, very involved in PTA and as a classroom mom. Over the course of her kids school years, she befriended many fellow parents and was a 2nd mom to almost everyone that came by the house. She had an open door for family and friends, even letting several of her kids friends live at their home when they where in need. She had a love for animals (esp dogs, cats, Lambs, hummingbirds, butterflies), windchimes, flowers & esp Orchids, word puzzles, the Ellen tv show & soap operas like General Hospital. She loved her Toyota pick up truck, but hated freeways and bridges, but was willing to drive all the way to Arizona to see her son play baseball. She loved the holidays, made several amazing portuguese dishes for christmas every year, and always said Grace at family gatherings. She is survived by many great friends, including long time friend & godmother to her son Patti Bradley, best friend Debbie Haney, Kate Clements and Amy Graph. Her memorial service will be Sat May 6th from 1130-230 at Santos Robinson Mortuary 160 Estudillo Ave San Leandro, following the service, we will be gathering at June's home for food and drinks, and sharing more memories & stories of how wonderful she will always be.
